Major CSR objective:
carbon neutrality by 2050

As a major events organiser, Vinexposium is implementing a strong commitment to CSR
(Corporate Social Responsibility) aimed at carbon neutrality.

OUR AMBITION

Aiming to be carbon neutral implies reducing the environmental impact of our events.
In practical terms, this means limiting the greenhouse gas emissions produced by our business.
For emissions that cannot be avoided, they either have to be compensated for by negative impact actions
or neutralised by using long-term carbon sequestering solutions in order to attain an overall balance in 2050, our main objective.

In compliance with the Paris Agreement, this major objective involves reaching an intermediary stage:
a reduction of 50% of our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.

OUR METHOD

To reach our major objective by 2050, we have created a cross-sectoral working group that brings
together all Vinexposium management executives and involves all of them in this collective project.

We have defined CSR performance indicators or KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to enable us to measure,
correct and monitor the consequences of our actions over time. They are monitored
using the Climeet resource, developed by Green Evénements:

Sources of carbon emissions
Associated performance indicator
Exhibitor / visitor / staff transport for our events
Number of kilometres travelled per person and per means of transport
Freight: equipment and consumables for our events
Number of kilometres travelled, per kg of equipment or per lorry, per means of transport
Equipment and lay-out of our facilities

• Amount of materials used,
recyclable or not, reusable or not.

And if so, how many times they can be reused
• Types of materials used
• Types of fixtures and fittings used

Energy: heat, cold, electricity
Number of Kwh used per type of energy
Catering
Number of meals consumed by type (vegetatian, classic, vegan) and quantity of seasonal produce
Accomodations
Number of nights booked, by type of accommodation, distance from the event and means of transport used to get there
Promotional items
Number of items distributed
Waste
Number of kg by type of waste and end-of-life (recycling, incineration, storage)
