This independent laboratory was founded in 1990 by his parents, Claude and Lydia Bourguignon, who pioneered soil health and protection, and its role in the stability of terrestrial ecosystems. For over 20 years, they raised awareness about soil preservation. Bourguignon studied soil science in the UK then completed a Master\u2019s Degree in soil microbiology at the University of Nancy, followed by a Ph.D. at the Bio-Protection Research Centre (Lincoln University, NZ) focusing on the ecology of soil fungi. He subsequently joined LAMS in 2008, as a consultant in soil microbiology, ecology and agronomy.
