Pernod Ricard acquires Italian Malfy gin

Pernod Ricard’s acquisition of Italian Malfy gin “is part of our long-established strategy to invest in high-potential brands in growth categories”, said Christian Porta, Pernod Ricard’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, in a statement.

With this acquisition, Pernod Ricard is expanding its portfolio in the “fast-growing” categories of premium and flavoured gins, following its partnership with Monkey 47 in 2016 and acquisition of Ungava in 2018.

Pernod Ricard saw its turnover increase in the first half of its staggered financial year (which began on 1 July 2018) by 5%, to €5.2 billion. The company will announce on Thursday its turnover for the third quarter.
